Walk into any bookstore and you will see a shelf of SAT prep books, most of them outdated. The Digital SAT changed the test in 2024, and many books have not caught up. Here is an honest 2026 review of which books are worth buying.
What Makes a Good Digital SAT Prep Book
Three things matter in 2026. First, the book must be updated for the Digital SAT (published or revised after 2024). Second, it must include realistic adaptive-style practice questions, not recycled paper-SAT problems. Third, the explanations must teach the reasoning, not just give the answer.
Anything published before 2024 covers the wrong test. Anything that does not explain WHY the wrong answers are wrong wastes your study time.
