A shared scale, not a guaranteed future score

The SAT Suite uses a common score scale to describe academic achievement. PSAT results can help identify areas to review, but they do not guarantee a later SAT result or justify adding a fixed number of points.

Check which assessment you took

PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 totals range from 320 to 1520; SAT totals range from 400 to 1600. PSAT 8/9 has its own range. Use the report and guide for your specific assessment.

Use the report to plan practice

Review the knowledge-and-skills feedback and choose a few areas to study. Follow that work with official Bluebook practice when preparing for the SAT. SAT Clarity does not currently import College Board score-report data automatically.

Scholarship eligibility is a separate question

If National Merit consideration is relevant, consult the current program entry requirements and your school. Do not assume any PSAT version, grade, score or practice result establishes eligibility.
